Abstract
Private equity investing has long been the domain of institutional and high-net-worth investors. The twin requirements of large capital commitments and long holding periods discouraged and prohibited retail investors from entering this market. However, this changed with the introduction of interval funds. Interval funds are mutual funds that have special features that make them ideal vehicles for private equity investing. Consequently, retail investors now have an entrée into private equity investing.
